Drive to the Jiankou Great Wall (2 hours)
The adventure begins at Xizhazi village. Once you leave the village, the hike is a decent uphill to reach the ruined tower-Zhengbeilou. On the halfway to Zhengbeikou, your guide will take you on a short nature walk to explore the less Potala, a broken tower where you will capture the best scenery /landscape views of Jiankou. Take your time and enjoy views.
Owing to the need for renovation, the wall is regarded as one of the most dangerous sections of the Ming’s wall. The Western part of Jiankou is known as one of the most dangerous parts of the wall only accessible with good climbing gear.
We walk east on the wall to the highest point of Jiankou (1029 meters) allowing you to see the entire Mutianyu Great Wall plus much of Jiankou as well.
It’s a very enjoyable walk on top of a well preserved Great Wall and after a good hour of walking, we will enter the Mutianyu Great Wall. Another hour downhill on nicely restored Great Wall is how we finish this hike.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Drive back to your hotel at about 5:00 pm.
